I was born in a desert city with the dream of the Olympics. I never knew that my dreams would come true in the opposite geography of my birthplace — somewhere cold and snowy.
Born to ski
From the first day that I learned to walk, I experienced skiing. Day by day, my love for snow, skiing, and racing grew within me.
Since childhood, I have engaged in various sports, with rock climbing, skating, horseback riding, mountain climbing, cycling, and snowboarding being among the most prominent. I participated in provincial and national ski competitions in the youth and junior categories, earning several provincial medals and one national gold medal in the youth category.
Pedaling to success
The second sport I specialized in at the youth level was mountain biking, where I consistently ranked as the top cyclist in Iran, surpassing even adult competitors. This achievement led to my selection as the first Iranian girl to compete in the Asian Mountain Biking Championships in China in 2011, where I earned fourth place.
After my success in mountain biking, I was invited to the national road cycling team training camp by the Cycling Federation. Following three months of continuous training, I was selected to represent the national speed cycling team at the Asian Cup competitions in Thailand.
Chasing dreams on the slopes
That winter, I was invited as a main member of the national youth ski team to train for the Asian Alpine Skiing Championships. After three months of training, I won two gold medals and one silver medal in the youth category.
Two golds and one silver — Asian Youth Ski Championships 2012.
After that, I focused all my efforts on skiing as a professional athlete, aiming to compete in the biggest sporting event in the world: the Olympic Games. I began my training with the goal of becoming an Olympian.
On my journey to qualify for the Olympics, I achieved several notable accomplishments:
- I won a silver medal and two bronze medals at the 2013 Turkish International Competition, which helped me secure my Olympic qualification.
- From 2012 to 2014, I earned several podium finishes in Iranian FIS competitions, contributing to my Olympic quota.
- I competed internationally in Lebanon, where I won two gold, two silver, and two bronze medals.
Sochi 2014
Finally, I achieved my goal of qualifying for the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics in Russia, becoming the second Iranian female athlete to earn the right to compete at the biggest winter sports event in the world. I qualified in slalom.
From Sochi to PyeongChang
After the Olympic Games I won gold and bronze medals at the 2017 Asian Championship. I represented Iran at the 2016/2017 Winter Universiade, continuing my presence on the international stage, and won silver and bronze medals in Turkish FIS competitions, adding to my international results. I competed at the Sapporo Asian Championship in Japan — one of only two alpine ski athletes chosen to represent Iran.
PyeongChang 2018
I carried the Olympic flame in the PyeongChang 2018 Torch Relay — a proud moment on the global Olympic stage. I earned a quota for my second Winter Olympic Games.
I became the only Iranian woman to have competed at two Winter Olympic Games.
I won a silver and a bronze medal at the senior Asian Games in 2018. My journey continued at the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships — Åre, Sweden in 2019 and Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy in 2021.
